Te Reo a Tū National Symposium
He wānanga ā-motu e whakakotahi ana i ngā Whare Tū Taua o te ao Māori.
Te Reo ā Tū – National Mau Rākau Symposium 2026 is a powerful three-day wānanga celebrating the living art of mau rākau — the discipline, language, and wairua of Tūmatauenga.
This symposium brings together kairākau, kaihaka, rangatahi, and passionate learners from across Aotearoa to share knowledge, uphold tikanga, and strengthen national connections in Te Ao Tū Taua. Across three days of kōrero, wānanga, and physical training, participants will explore the four dimensions of mau rākau: taha tinana, taha hinengaro, taha wairua, and taha whānau — guided by respected tohunga and kaiako from iwi throughout the motu.
Building on the success of Te Reo o Tū – Te Arawa, this national symposium continues the movement to revitalise the teachings, reo, and artistry that underpin mau rākau and kapa haka.
Catering is provided daily, and physical sessions are optional. Spaces are limited — join us to stand, learn, and wānanga in the spirit of Tū.
